This research summary was developed during a project with ranchers in the Peace region to identify nutrient or cropping management practices that might enhance the resilience of forage production to climate change extremes.
This summary shares information about using a soil quality field kit to gather and share information about management practices through the field trials. A sample field report is included, as well as a summary of test results for ranchers who used the soil kit to address particular questions.
The research leads found the soil quality field kit was helpful in enabling producers to compare management practices. The kit also helped support discussions with producers and students about soil health.
