Communicating about drought in the Cowichan Valley

These resources provide an overview of a pilot project that tested communications strategies and activities for informing producers about drought levels in the Cowichan.

The 2017 report summarizes the results of a producer evaluation of the various communications activities. Among lessons learned was the need for full season water availability communication, rather than an exclusive focus on drought.

For future communication about water supply, producers favoured the use of social media and other digital strategies over the printed mediums attached as examples.
