Preparing for extreme events in the Cowichan Valley

These resources provide an overview of the types of extreme weather that is expected to become more frequent in the Cowichan Valley.

The 2015 report review different scales of adaptation, farm-level and community, and detail a series of prioritized actions, including:

  • Livestock evacuation
  • Communication of drought risk
  • On-farm water storage
  • Agricultural ditch maintenance
  • Debris and vegetation management

Hazard maps show agricultural areas that may be at risk of extreme weather event.
