Priority pests in the Cariboo-Chilcotin

This report provides an assessment of the potential impact of current and emerging pests on agriculture in the Cariboo.

The report includes an analysis of the current and future geographic distribution of biogeoclimatic ecological classification zones, relative to regional agricultural land and rangelands.

The pests are ranked in terms of priority, based on:

  • Current and potential distributions if unmanaged
  • Scale and severity of potential impacts on regional agricultural production
  • Availability of existing research, monitoring and/or management support

The report also includes six recommendations for supporting pest management in this region.
