Weevils in berry crops, nurseries, and floriculture: fact sheets

Weevils feed on roots and can stunt the growth of, or kill, young plants. Once established, weevils are difficult to control. Feeding by adult weevils causes aesthetic damage to ornamental crops.

The first fact sheet focuses on weevils in berry cops and provides information on identification, monitoring and management. It includes information about seasonal management considerations, as well as how to distinguish between different species of weevils.

The second fact sheet focuses on focuses on weevils in nursery and floriculture cops and provides information on identification, monitoring and management. It includes information about seasonal management, as well as how to distinguish between different species of weevils.

This resource was developed as part of a fact sheet series, following a process to inventory, analyze and prioritize pest threats for agriculture in the Fraser Valley.
